Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Nostalgy.AI web app (“Nostalgy.AI”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Nostalgy.AI is part of Nostalgy and is operated by Andrés Ballen, an individual based in the United States.
In short: we use your photos only to restore, colorize or animate them for you. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, we don’t use analytics trackers, and we don’t use your photos to train AI models. You can ask us to delete your account and all your photos at any time.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address and password, or — if you sign in with Google — your email, name and profile picture from Google.
- Photos you upload, and any details you add to them (decade, place, extra notes).
- Messages you send us when you contact support.
Information created when you use Nostalgy.AI
- Results: restored and colorized images, and any videos you generate.
- Account activity: your credit balance, the restorations and videos you’ve made, and referral codes you’ve shared or used.
- Payments: a record of each purchase (pack, credits, amount, date and payment reference). Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Security logs: to prevent fraud and abuse, we may record events such as sign-ins and checkout attempts, along with your IP address and browser type.
Stored in your browser
Your sign-in session, a referral code you arrived with, and — only during sign-in — a temporary copy of the photo you were about to restore. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use information
- To restore, colorize and animate your photos and keep them in your gallery.
- To manage your account, credits, referrals and purchases.
- To protect the service from fraud and abuse, including rate limits.
- To answer your support requests.
We do not use your photos to train AI models, we don’t use them for facial recognition, and we don’t sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

These providers process data on our behalf to run Nostalgy.AI, under their own security and privacy terms.
Your photos
- Upload only photos you own or have permission to use. Old photos often show other people — please be thoughtful about sharing images of others.
- Your originals and results are stored in your account until you delete them or your account. Results are delivered through file links; anyone who has a direct link to a file may be able to open it, so share links with care.
- Images you download or share through the app’s share buttons may include a “Restored by Nostalgy.AI” label.
How long we keep information
- Account, photos, results and activity: until you delete your account.
- Payment records: kept as long as required for accounting, tax and dispute purposes, even after account deletion, without your photos.
- Security logs: kept for a limited time to investigate abuse, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account and photos: see Delete your account.
- Access, correction or a copy of your data: email privacy@nostalgy.dev from the address linked to your account. We will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example California, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights, such as objecting to certain processing or filing a complaint with your local data protection authority. We will honor these requests as required by law and won’t treat you differently for using them.
Where your data is processed
Nostalgy.AI is operated from the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
Security
Connections are encrypted, accounts require a confirmed email before photos are processed, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects you as required by law.
Children
Nostalgy.AI is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and let you know by email or in the app before the changes take effect.
